Ethics

I expected that we would talk about how managers are involved in ethical dilemmas. I thought that we would discuss different ethical situations and how to best manage these kinds of problems that come up.
I actually learned that my personal ethical standards are very different from the culture that I live in. I have personal beliefs that would have guided my decisions in a different way than most of our scenarios went.
I will utilize this information by being more vocal of my opinions. Even though I suspect I will usually be overridden, I think that my viewpoints count and may apply for some situations where others may not have considered a situation in a way that I could suggest. I also think I might be interested in sitting on an ethics committee at some point.
I feel like I can better see the opinions and feelings from multiple sides of an issue. I understand why some of these issues are so controversial. I liked the setting we were in, although there were limitations because we probably didn't ever has as much information as a true ethics committee would have had. But it was still really interesting to have the experience of what an ethics committee would be like and what types of things they would need to discuss in order to formulate a recommendation.
